Popular Kitchen Storage Upgrades
November 14, 2022How To Measure Your Kitchen
January 24, 2023Homeowners across America are nesting.
They are investing in their homes and choosing design elements that make their space feel secure, comfortable, and inviting.
While clean lines are still popular, the details of layering materials is where most of the trends for 2023 are at.
Trend: Color
Post pandemic color trends are new hues of pinks, purples, and jewel tones. These colors have a richness to them, but still an overall soft tone.
An easy way to incorporate new color in a kitchen design is through artwork, unique accessories, and small upholstered pieces like seat covers. All of these are items that can easily be switched out in the future at a relatively low cost.
Trend: Matte Surfaces
High gloss is out for 2023. Surfaces that look like they have been touched, hand crafted, and created for human interaction are in.
Matte washes on cabinetry, matte hardware, and matte finishes on countertops are top trends.
Trend: Wood Cabinetry
The all white kitchen is finally seeing some variation! Incorporating wood cabinets with a wash finish is a strong trend for 2023. White oak, or any creamy finish are what homeowners are frequently selecting.
A kitchen with wood base cabinets in a warm wash finish, and creamy white upper cabinets is on trend.
Trend: Mixed Metals
This trend of the past two years is still going strong.
Stainless steel serves as a neutral, then designers are layering in un-lacquered polished brass, dark bronze, and matte black in faucets, lighting, hardware, and backsplashes.
Trend: Integrated Appliances
As technology advances appliances, the result can often take away from creating a warm, comfortable aesthetic.
One design feature that is often worth the expense is paneling, or integrating, larger appliances like dishwashers and refrigerators/freezers.
