Quartz Versus Granite: What’s The Difference?February 4, 2020
2020 Color Trends From Benjamin Moore
Designers agree that one of the best ways to breathe new life into home decor is to add new color. There is no single “best way” to do that, but repainting walls and ceilings can add distinctive new appeal to your home with minimum effort. The key is to choose a color scheme that complements existing decor, but is different enough to evoke a new mood in a room.
The newly-released palette, Color Trends 2020, from paint supplier Benjamin Moore, envisions a lighter, brighter look for home interiors in this first year of a new decade. Ten harmonious hues are anchored by pale neutrals that tend toward grey rather than beige, a calming departure from current favorites.
The Color Of The Year – “First Light”
The Color of the Year is a fresh blend of pink and peach, a rosy shade termed First Light 2102-70. It’s surprisingly neutral, as appropriate for classic living spaces as for a refreshing master bedroom.
Joining this soft blush tone in the color lineup for spring are a variety of mellow shades, including soft, buttery Golden Straw, a pale blue called Windmill Wings, and a pair of darker, saturated hues named Blue Danube and Cushing Green. The remaining five hues are distinctive pale neutrals rather than the more earthy, natural tones of recent years.
The Benjamin Moore palette is a distillation of trends gleaned from art, fashion, culture, food, travel and the environment. While trends may suggest a direction, picking a color that resonates is a personal decision.
