When it comes to planning a kitchen renovation, we know from experience that the top question from Indiana homeowners is:
“How much is my kitchen renovation going to cost?”
There’s good news and there’s bad news to that answer. The good news is that our team of in-store kitchen designers will walk you through every step of the process no matter the size of your kitchen, or your budget.
The bad news is that there is not a straightforward answer. There are dozens of variables that will impact your kitchen remodeling budget.
The key things that will change a kitchen remodeling budget include:
- the type of kitchen cabinets you choose
- the appliances you select
- the kind of countertops you choose
- how much construction the new layout requires
The average prices that we’ve listed below can give you a frame of reference for when you meet with a kitchen designer and start to budget your kitchen remodeling project.
It’s important to keep in mind that the pricing below is just for materials.
These prices do not include labor. A good rule of thumb is that whatever your material costs are, your labor costs will match it.
Valuable Links To Help Your Kitchen Budgeting Research
- According to a 2021 report by HomeAdvisor®, the range for a kitchen remodel is between $13,356 and $37,715.
- Remodeling magazine Cost vs. Value Report lists the national average to remodel a 200-square-foot kitchen with mid-range materials between $26,200 and $75,500. The low end accounts for a minor refresh, and the upper end would be a more major remodel.
For our Indiana customers, it’s important to keep in mind that midwest costs are typically lower than national averages. Cost vs. Value Report listed $75,500 as the average for a major kitchen remodel. But that same project costs about 14% less to complete in the Midwest vs. the Pacific coast ($71,100 vs. $81,500).
Will My Kitchen Remodel Be Worth It?
Our past customers tell us – absolutely it was worth it! Homeowners tell us that their renovated kitchen immediately brings them joy and improved functionality.
Of course a newly renovated kitchen can also boost the value of your home. The Cost vs. Value Report estimates homeowners have recouped up to 57% of their kitchen investment in improved resale value.
