MoistureShield™ Composite Decking

Most composite deck boards are made using a co-extrusion process. Raw materials like sawdust, wood chips, and wood fibers are combined with HDPE plastic and then placed in an extruder. The mixture is melted and forced through a die to make it resemble wood lumber. The final product looks remarkably like genuine wood in many ways.

Composite decking has many advantages over treated lumber:

• It doesn’t need painting or periodic replacement
• It doesn’t rot and is resistant to mold growth due to moisture
