CDL Delivery Driver – Valparaiso, IN

Von Tobel is seeking a full-time yard Delivery Driver for our Valparaiso, IN location.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operates a variety of delivery trucks to include: flat bed, box and boom trucks while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies
• Loads and unloads lumber & building materials from trucks
• Provides excellent customer service
• Operates forklift
• Communicate effectively with management and customers regarding delivery status.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and reliability.
• Keeps lumber yard and vehicles clean, well-organized and safe.
• Assists in various warehouse yard operations.

Requirements:

• Valid CDL
• Safe driving record (MVR)
• Boom or crane certification not required but is highly preferred!
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
• Familiar with building materials including lumber species a plus
• Previous experience in a lumber yard a plus
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Detailed oriented
• Ability to work outdoors
• Must take and pass a drug test and pre-employment fit for duty assessment
• Must consent to a criminal background check & safety employment verification as required by DOT/FMCSA
