Salary: $12.00 to $20.00 /hour
Von Tobel Lumber and Hardware is seeking a full-time Fireplace Installer to join our team at for Valparaiso location. We are a 100% employee-owned, growth oriented company that has over 50 years of experience servicing the professional contractor, the remodeling contractor and Do-It-Yourself customers.
Responsibilities to include:
- Installing of gas, vent free and wood burning fireplaces and along with a variety of accessories
- Travel to a variety jobsite locations to perform work
- Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair
- Perform work area clean-up and safety related duties
Skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity, standing, kneeling, walking, must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Ability to work outdoors
- Able to read and take measurements of materials
- Able to follow both written and verbal directions
- The ideal candidate will have a construction background, a mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently
- Prior fireplace installation or carpentry experience preferred
- Must take and pass a drug test and pre-employment physical assessment
- Must consent to a background check
- Must have a clean driving record
