Our knowledgeable designers will help you narrow down the choices to create a kitchen that matches your dreams, your style, and your budget. Read below about the process of working with Von Tobel kitchen designers.
1. Set A Budget
Come up with a general idea of what you're comfortable spending on your new kitchen. A ballpark figure is ok. You can adjust it as you go.
2. Prep Work
Make a list of your must-have features vs. your wish list items.
Use Pinterest, Houzz, magazines and websites to collect ideas.
Take rough measurements and create a rough sketch of your existing kitchen. Learn how to measure your kitchen here.
Select your appliances and make a list of their model numbers.
3. 1st Design Appointment
Review your floor plan and discuss layout, including appliance location with your designer.
Discuss if the existing flooring is staying or being replaced.
Discuss the overall project timeline.
Cabinetry
Discuss wood species, door style and finishes.
Select a cabinetry line. The design process cannot begin until this selection is made.
Select countertop material.
Schedule professional measure.
Discuss storage and organizational options.
Discuss accessories including moldings and accents.
Select faucets, backsplashes, under cabinet lighting, knobs and hardware.
4. 2nd Design Appointment
(1-2 weeks later)
● Review kitchen design including floor plan, elevations, and perspectives.
● Review estimated cost of materials.
● Make adjustments as needed.
5. 3rd Design Appointment
● Review final design.
Check each item on the bill of materials against the floor plan, elevations and perspectives.
● Sign off on cabinetry wood species and finish.
- Sign off on any Special Order agreements.
